Silverwood Lake ~ Memorial Weekend

Memorial Weekend, and another camping trip for the Kuhlman's - at Silverwood Lake. We went with the Dagel's (Steve, Nikki, Emily, Julia & Eric), the Miller's (Judy, KendraLee & Mattie) and our friends the Ramirez' (Mike, Jen, Alexa, Cristina & Olivia). Despite the cold weather we had in the low to mid 60's, after 90-100 degrees the weekend before, we made the most of it and had a great time together. We were anticipating a warm weekend to play in the water, oh well. We went on hikes every day, that led us on some tadpole hunting. The kids just loved to catch the tadpoles, and now Kylee is trying to raise them at home and hoping that they will turn into frogs one day. We will see. We also did some biking, fishing, played bocce ball, RC car driving and movie watching (we needed something to do inside to keep us warm). Not much campfire time this trip. We always enjoy our camping trips, and this one was no different.

Scott's Fishing Trip

Scott went on his Semi-Annual May fishing trip at Silver Lake in June Lake Loop with a bunch of guys from the Fire Department, from May 9th - 13th. As usual, he had a great time getting away and enjoying fishing all day long. He got a great 3 pound trout! As you can see from the pictures, there was snow all over, yet Scott said it wasn't as cold as it has been in the past. We are glad he was able to get away, but very happy when he finally got home. Shane was very excited for his "best friend" to come home!

Happy Mother's Day!

Girl Scouts ~ Mother's Day Tea
On Saturday, Kylee's Girl Scout troop hosted a wonderful tea at our local park. It was so beautiful and such a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the girls all had a fun time. It was very special.

On Sunday, we celebrated Mother's Day at Crystal's place. We had a wonderful brunch with Scott's family and Tim's mom Kris. After brunch, the kids enjoyed swimming with Uncle Tim - lots of jumping and diving in the pool. They loved it - thanks Tim for spending the time with them.

Later that evening, we went to my sister Nikki's house for a nice BBQ. It was a great way to end the day.

Scott was on his annual fishing trip over the entire weekend, so he missed all of the fun times - we will get some pictures posted soon, once he gets back home! We can't wait to see him.

Annie Jr is over

The last weekend of Annie Jr - Aunt Judy, Aunt Nikki and cousins KendraLee, Mattie & Emily came to see the show on Friday night. Some friends came to the last show on Saturday night. It was a show that Kylee will never forget. She was sad on Sat night knowing it was the last show and it was all over. But, now Kylee knows she loves the theater and will be doing more plays in the future!

And, mom is glad to know we have a break now too, whew. It was a crazy schedule last week after spending close to 30 hours in a 7 day period at the theater. No wonder we were so exhausted. I have not felt so tired in quite some time! But, it was all worth it. If only I can get Tomorrow, Easy Street and all of those other lovely Annie songs out of my head (and my dreams) - after spending 30 hours in one week with all these songs, it's not easy to stop singing them in my head day and night!

A special thanks to Alyssa for watching Shane the first Friday while Scott was working. And a special thanks to Kelly for watching Shane both Fri and Sat night the second weekend of shows, while Scott was on his fishing trip. Shane got a little bothered with all of the singing around the house, and it was nice for him to spend time with friends instead of sitting back stage while mom helped during the shows. We really appreciate it!!

...Let the Show Begin!

On Friday, during the "Gala" Opening Night, they had classic cars take the cast from backstage to the "Red Carpet". All the kids (and adults) got to walk the red carpet while parents and fans took pictures, clapped and cheered for the cast. What a fun experience for them!! They had so much fun and did such an awesome job for the opening night show.

Sat night, we were able to watch the show with both sets of Grandparents and Auntie Crystal & Uncle Tim. It was a little late for Shane, and he fell asleep during Act II. Kylee got spoiled with flowers this night, and really loved them (watch out boys, when she gets older she will be one who likes receiving flowers!!). Kylee is really loving this.

It's A Hard Knock Life...

Kylee is going to be performing in "Annie, Jr." through MYART. There are 8 shows total over the first two weekends of May. Kylee has been rehearsing once a week since the end of February, and is VERY excited to be in the show. It has been a lot of fun. This week, they call "production week", and we practice every day for the entire week before opening night. This is the only week that is so crazy - since she is in ensemble and not a lead. We are a little tired here, but it is going to be worth it all when the curtains raise on opening night!
