Uncle Carl & Aunt Jane Visit

My Uncle Carl (mom's brother) and Aunt Jane from IL, were in CA for a work event. We were able to have a couple hours to spend with them this evening. The kids always love seeing them - Uncle Carl is just a big kid himself around them. It is great - fun times!

Dancing With the Stars - TV Taping

I was lucky enough to get tickets to go watch the Live TV taping of Dancing With the Stars. I am a huge fan and this is one show that I make sure to watch every week (I know, I am crazy). Nikki, Janet and my friend Kelly went with me. We had such a good time seeing the live show and the stars dance in person. The set really is a lot smaller in person than it looks on TV. It was a really fun evening for these big time fans!

Cheer Clinic

Kylee participated in the High School's annual cheer clinic again this year. She has such a good time with this. They practice after school every day during a one week clinic learning all of the cheers & having fun with chants. Then, they get to cheer at the Varsity Football game on Friday night. The girls love it.

First Soccer Game of the Season

We had our first game day of the Fall Soccer Season today! It was very hot out there - Kylee's game at 8 am was a little too warm for that early in the morning. But, we got through it and brought an umbrella for Shane's game.

Kylee is playing on the Supreme Green U10 Girls team. She has had a 2 year break, but is enjoying getting back into the game. She was lucky to get on the same team with her good friend Savina. They played very well today for their first game, and won the game!

Shane is playing on the Lightning U8 Boys Team. He is loving every minute of it as always. He was lucky to get on a team with his good friends Tanner & RJ. I forgot to bring my good camera to the field for Shane's game, so I did not get the action shots like usual. So, here is one of him with orange mouth! I will get plenty action shots throughout the season though. They had a good game too.
Scott is Assistant Coach for both teams this year, and Jen is Team Mom for both teams. The kids enjoy it and it makes it fun for us all to be involved.

First Day of School

School started today, yeah! Kylee started 4th Grade and Shane started 2nd Grade. Kylee was ready, Shane was not as ok with it - but he was fine once he got there and saw all of his friends. Mom & Dad were Exstatic about it!! Finally, a little break from the "I'm bored", "Can I go somewhere?", "Can a Friend Come Over". It will be good for all of us to be back to school.

Notice Kylee's glasses - she recently had to get glasses for reading and the computer. She absolutely loves them, as you can tell from this photo above (she did not want to take them off this first day of school). Here is another picture of her below.

Horseback Ride

Kylee and Mom were able to go on an hour long horse trail ride. We had won the tickets at the school's silent auction back in May during the school carnival, through Horse Play Horse Rentals. It was so much fun for Kylee and I to do this. We were the only two who signed up for this specific ride, so it was really nice to have some one on one attention! Kylee just loves horses and she had the best hour ever! I, on the other hand, was sore when I got off - that cheerleading in high school and college has messed up my back and again I am feeling old. We got to feed the horses carrots when we got back. Kylee would love to be able to take horse riding lessons one day. But, we are too busy with soccer this season, so she will have to wait and see what the future holds.
