Condo Weekend

Jen & the kids went to our timeshare in Ramona (San Diego area) this weekend. This is the condo Jen grew up going to with her family. It was a rainy weekend, and we spent most of the time inside hanging out, playing games and watching some tv / movies. Scott's cousin Wendi and her girls Nina & Anna came by for a few hours to hang out on Saturday. Since they live close, Kylee went home with them to go to church Sat night. I had planned to pick her up and bring her back that night....but it started raining really hard, not to safe to drive in. So, Kylee ended up spending the night with Wendi & the girls. Shane and I had a night together at the condo - it was nice to have some mom & Shane time - and this would have never happened if we planned it. Pretty cool!

Shane beat mom at Risk - he had to use both green & red guys because he was running out! He's a great player (and I am really bad).
After Shane whipped me at Risk, he lined up all the guys....
Sunday we went to pick up Kylee and got to watch Nina play one of her soccer games. Here are Nina, Kylee, Shane & Anna.

On our way home, we got to stop by and see Jen's cousin Jim and one of his daughter's Sophia. Here are Shane & Kylee with Sophia.

The Saddle Pad is Finally Here!

One of Kylee's Christmas presents was a blue Camo Saddle Pad to match her other camo gear (helmet & halter). I ordered this online Dec 4th, and it was on backorder. It was supposed to come in time for Christmas, but kept getting pushed back, day after day, week after week. It finally came in the end of February - 2 1/2 months after I ordered it!! Check it out....
Doesn't she look good with all her blue tack :)

Kylee Gets Her Own Saddle & Rides Bareback!

Kylee has been saving her money and finally got enough to buy her very first Western Saddle! She is so proud and excited to have her own saddle now. It is also giving her more confidence in her riding. Look at this proud girl....

Lake Arrowhead!

The first weekend of February, we got to go to Lake Arrowhead with our good friends Jill, Willie, Alyssa, Ryan & Alex. There had been a lot of snow over the prior weeks, so we had a lot of snow to play in. It did rain on us while we were there though, we had some hail as well. The last night, it finally got cold enough for a little snow (while we slept), so there was a small new snow cover in the morning to go along with a beautiful sunny day. We had such a great time, and the kids had a blast playing with their friends, sledding, snow ball fights, and just having fun. This was only Kylee & Shane's 2nd time to the snow (we need to get them up to the mountains more often).

Riley's Farm ~ Field Trip

Kylee's 5th Grade Field Trip ~ Riley's Farm Colonial Day Experience

This was such an awesome field trip. We went to the local mountains, Oak Glen, and the kids got to go to different stations to experience and learn how the American's lived during the colonial times. Some of those are shown in the pictures below. At the end of the day, they got to participate in a war re-enactment. It was the coolest thing! Kylee said this was the best field trip ever and wants to go again. What a great experience for the kids! (And I can't wait to go again when Shane is in 5th grade-hehe.)
