Kylee's Horse Lesson with Aladdin

This is Kylee's 5th individual horse lesson, she loves riding Aladdin.  Every lesson she has to groom the horse, put on the tack and walk the horse before riding.  It is really good for her to know all the work it takes to get to ride, and appreciate the ride even more.  Kylee does just love being around the horses, and has withdrawals in between lessons, begging to go to the stables.  This is such a great experience for her.  We are very proud of our Kylee girl!

Happy Easter to everyone!

Saturday night, we did our annual egg decorating at Scott's parents house.  Sunday, we spent the day at Scott's Aunt Kathi & Uncle Dan's.  I couldn't get pictures of all the kids during the egg hunt because they were so focused and would not stop for me - I was lucky to get Shane & Anna.  Uncle Dan set up a table for them all to look for pennies with their birth year on them, they all liked this and it kept them busy.  It was another great time spent with family (except I did miss my family this year and Scott was working).

Shane's 8th Birthday Party ~ Boomers

Shane had a blast at his Boomers Birthday Party.  The boys played miniature golf, rode lots of fun rides, played laser tag and some video games.  They had a really good time together - Happy Birthday Shaner!!

Spring Break ~ April 6-9th

For Spring Break, we went to Escondido and stayed at the Lawrence Welk Resort.  They had a great pool with a slide, which the kids really enjoyed on Monday and Tuesday.  Tuesday we also went to Bates Nut Farm - we were looking for a place that had horses for Kylee to see.  They had farm animals, but no horses - Kylee will just have to wait for her next lessons.

On Wednesday, we went to see the USS Midway in San Diego, a retired air craft carrier.  This was very cool for us all.  It is amazing to see how these military men lived on an air craft carrier - I have so much respect for them, I could never do it.  We went on deck and saw all sorts of planes and helicopters, and took a little tour of the "Island" on deck - this is like the air traffic control tower.  It was a very cool experience.

Wednesday night, we saw a Family Comedy & Magic show at the Lawrence Welk Theatre on our Resort property.  The kids liked the Magic show best - some of the comedy went over their little heads....

Thursday, we headed home - but first stopped at Legoland for a fun filled day with Scott's cousin Wendi and her girls Nina & Anna.  We had such a fun time - the first visit for Scott, Shane & I (and Kylee had only been once when she was about 2).  It was a great day, especially to be with cousins that the kids don't get too see all the time.  Thanks Wendi for a wonderful time!

Heritage Museum ~

Kylee & Shane got to go to a very cool Birthday party for our friend Holly's 10th Birthday.  It was held at the Heritage Museum and was so much fun.  They got to pan for gold, wash clothes the old-fashioned way and play with some old toys.  They had a really good time, and it was a very neat place to visit!
